Product Description
With this conversion service we will replace the internal hot mirror filter with a high quality custom made infrared glass filter. This will allow your camera to capture infrared light instead of visible light. After IR conversion you won’t need any filters in front of the lens and the camera will be just as sensitive to infrared as it was to visible light. This means you can hand hold and compose normally.
Focus calibration we perform on mirrorless cameras allows the use of all mirrorless camera lenses without any focus issues, just as with stock cameras.
Our most popular infrared filter is the Super Color IR due to its versatility in allowing stunning color and monochrome infrared images but it does require some Photoshop post production.
If you are unsure which IR filter type to choose please be sure to go through the Start Here section. It should give you everything you need but if you find you still have questions please feel free to contact us by phone or email, we are always happy to help.
Our 1 year warranty is included on conversion services and installed IR filters.
After you place your order you will receive an email with instructions on how to send us your camera.

I was well-pleased with my first conversion (a Canon 5D Mark 2), and will soon be sending in my EOS-R for conversion. They did a fantastic job and the wait wasn’t terribly long.

I recently sent in a newly purchased Canon EOS M100 for conversion to HyperColor because I wanted to downsize. This is my second conversion with LifePixel, the first being a Canon Rebel T5 to SuperColor. As before they did an excellent job with the conversion. No marks, everything looked like it did out of the box from Canon, not even a scratch on any of the screws! I was eager to get out and try the new HyperColor filter and take it through it’s paces. First thing I noticed was that HyperColor offers so many creative possibilities! Portraits retain much of the skin tones yet still retain that porcelain look. There are so many colors available in foliage subjects that can be manipulated and enhanced that wern’t there in the SuperColor. The great thing is that you can use any of the higher wavelength external filters with HyperColor too which will give you tons of flexibility. I purchased a SuperColor external filter and sold my T5 so now I have the best of both in one compact camera that fits in my pocket. I wouldn’t hesitate to use choose LifePixel again for my next conversion, and to recommend to people in my local camera club.

Having used the services here twice before, I decided to have my new IR camera, Canon EOS M5, converted to Enhanced IR at LifePixel again. I received the camera back within the promised time frame but the battery compartment required excessive force to open and close it. I reported the problem and was told to send it back for a review. That extra shipping cost me over $60 and the problem turned out to be a loose screw! I got it back and started using it with good results. Other than the loose screw snafu, all is good.

I had concerns about converting my Canon EOS M3 to 590nm Super Color and asked a few questions before sending in the camera. Daniel from the service depart answered my questions and made me feel confident the conversion would be worth doing. I must say, the service was within the promised time and the results are just wonderful.

On June 20, 2017, I sent Life Pixel my Canon EOS M3 to have them install their Super Color IR filter. I received the converted camera from them on July 10, well within their promised delivery period.
I immediately took it for a trial run (of course), and I was and still am very pleased with the results. I had shot IR previously using IR filters on an unmodified camera, and was accustomed to long time exposures on a tripod. No more, now I can shoot infrared images pretty much as easily as I can “normal” visible light photos.
Since I had them install the Super Color IR filter, there is often some post-processing required, but I expected that. I’ve also learned that the Super Color filter can produce both impressive color photos and monochrome images that very closely mimic IR film.
When I inspected the first images out of the converted camera, I discovered one rather faint dust spot at the upper edge of each image. I removed the lens, and spotted one tiny piece of dust near the edge of the sensor. I gave the sensor a good zap with a rocket blower, and the dust demon vanished, from both the sensor and future images.
I am incredibly pleased with the work Life Pixel has done with my camera; highly recommended for anyone ready to delve into real IR photography!
