The world leader in infrared camera conversions
I graduated from mechanical engineering but I have turned to photography. I am using infrared light to show Korea, my hometown. I began with curiosity. The curiosity wanted to express the beauty of Korea more colorfully, and it became my work. Infrared photography is an unfamiliar task for people. But it is also an expression of Korea that I already know. However, I showed the image of Korea with my own color and beauty.
The world is composed by Images and stories. There are stories imagined through images and images contained stories. It is not easy to decide how images merge into its stories. Yet the photographer just hope for communicating with audiences, rather than working himself one-way progress through ‘show – view’ activities. This is why the title of the exhibition is named as ‘Facing (each other)’.
There are different trees standing on an old palace, downtown, and steel mill which somehow look same. Concerning as a main subject in the artwork, or not, the trees standing on different spot are expressed within one color. The green leaves are reborn as pink images through infrared photographed filter. It contains many stories; palaces stayed there for a long time, cities which have been changing its role as living foundation for people, or industrial zones filled with hard worker’s sweat.
Space that have been passing all the while is now attracting to the eye. The difference of viewpoint has bring on emotion variation. Once seeing differently and newly, then the world was colorfully shining. His work field will be extending. Once images and stories are existed, the artist is looking forward to facing you through his viewfinder.
