The world leader in infrared camera conversions
I enjoy history and find many of my subjects as I explore areas of cultural significance in my travels. I really enjoy researching the subjects I shoot and talking with people who may have some connection or knowledge of the structure or area. When I’m fortunate enough to have proper shooting conditions while I’m exploring I spend some time and get as many shots as I can. If the conditions are poor then I will return on another day and try to learn a little more before I go back. I often shoot subjects numerous times over several months to capture the seasons, different times of the day, or sometimes stages of deterioration. I do not limit myself to a single method of image capture in fact I often shoot a subject in digital, film, and Infrared (IR) both Color IR and B&W IR. I think digital infrared is one of the most beautiful and stunning forms of digital photography today. I also like to mix this with historical alternative printing processes. Many of the digital Infrared photos I print are made with Platinum & Palladium printing, which is a hand made contact printing method that was patented in the mid-1870’s and still in use today by many fine art photographers. Examples and video of me making platinum prints are on my website under the Platinum & Palladium Section.
