This collection of digital infrared photographs were created by Buffalo, New York photographer Caroline Bronckers. Caroline has been practicing the art of digital infrared photography for the past seven years, and uses a combination of special filters and dedicated infrared cameras along with special processing techniques to achieve the unique look to her images.
Caroline works in commercial printing and graphics and was also trained in traditional film photography, which gave her a solid background to learn digital photography. She also works as a freelance photographer on various commercial projects and assignments. Her curiosity about infrared imgaging along with her desire to produce more artistic and unique photos led her to the world of digital infrared photography. Over the past few years, she has had two cameras converted to dedicated infrared at 720nm – and also has a dedicated 650nm camera (all conversions by LifePixel of course!). This enables her to use different infrared cameras for different scenes and lighting conditions.
Often, when the weather and lighting are just right, Caroline is out in search of the perfect scene to photograph in infrared.
