I’ve been doing infrared photography since I ran a few rolls of 35mm infrared film in the late 70s. A little later, IR infrared sheet film was always in the box of 4 x 5 sheet film holders for my view camera and then some medium format work as well. But it wasn’t until converted digital cameras that the evolution of really good infrared photography became possible for me. Before that it was hit and miss; now I can evolve my work consistently, and it keeps getting better after 40 years of working on it. I’m really happy with mirrorless cameras with in body stabilization that can be hand-held for infrared work.
Infrared is a major part of my work, another part of the total range. Various black and white interpretations from conventional cameras, color work, shallow to full depth of field, and infrared make a full spectrum of interpretation. There are a lot of notes to hit in this symphony we call photography. I live and work in Vermont, with a lot of time in New Hampshire, and also some travel with a full range of camera gear.
