Hi, my name is Ctein (yup, that’s my full and legal name) and I live in Daly City, California with my partner Paula, way too many books, and three demented psittacines. (Our African Grey, Elmo, is pictured here. He talks. A lot!)
I’ve been a professional photographer for over 50 years and a professional writer for almost that long, but I only “discovered” infrared in 2008. Before then, 99% of my serious photography was in color. Now, easily a third is infrared B&W. Two decades ago, I’d have never imagined my work would move in such a direction. I’m thrilled I can still discover some new place to take my art.
