Donald Withers is a full time professional outdoor photographer and Master Naturist spending time in both Pawleys Island and Charleston, South Carolina. He enjoys identifying with and bringing out the mood, soul and ethereal qualities of his subjects and creating a sense of motion using long exposures and infrared photography.
His articles and photography have been published in many magazines, newspapers, billboards, and kiosks. He has lectured on photography related topics and has lead private & group workshops and photo safaris.
Donald is currently working on a collaborative effort for an upcoming historical book on the Magnolia Beach Club in Pawleys Island, that was once a famous African American beach club where artists like Fats Domino, Little Richard, Duke Ellington and many other musicians performed until, it was destroyed by Hurricane Hazel in 1954.
He created and moderates “The Inspired Photographer” group on Facebook, where he has over 7,000 of the world’s top and aspiring photographers as members sharing their beautiful, inspiring and thought provoking art.
Donald is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association, Carolina Nature Photography Association, Nikon Professional Services and a featured pro photographer with Singh-Ray Filters. He is also the staff photographer for the Lowcountry Companion Magazine.
His cameras for infrared photography include the Nikon Df, Nikon D300 and a Canon G12, all with the 590nm Super Color IR Conversion by LifePixel.
