The world leader in infrared camera conversions
Hi, my name is Hartmut Kannegiesser (“Hart” for short). I was born and raised in Germany, came to the U.S. at the age of 26, and spent my professional life as a physician in St. Louis and Chicago. I am retired and live in the Chicago area.
I took up photography when the first decent digital cameras came on the market in the early 2000s. My passion has been, and is to this day, landscape photography. I love the outdoors and relish the challenges and rewards of photographing in natural light.
As high quality camera conversion became available, I was eager to add infrared photography to my artistic armamentarium A couple of years ago I bought a Sony camera. Lifepixel converted the sensor with a 665nm filter. Most of my infrared work is in black and white, although I also take advantage of the color capabilities of the filter. I greatly enjoy the almost unlimited possibilities of IR post-processing in Lightroom and Photoshop.
