DSLR vs point & shoot
Something else to consider is whether you use a digital SLR or a point and shoot camera. While there is a lot more flexibility when using digital SLRs, point and shoots are simple to use, more portable and affordable. This chapter section will tell you more and help you decide.
Portability
DSLR cameras are quite larger than point and shoot cameras, especially with the lens attached. For many people size is the primary criteria when selecting a digital camera. Just remember that there is a trade off in size vs image quality, the smaller you go the less room there is to pack in the components. In a digital camera the sensor and the lens are the most critical components and are the first to suffer from a shrinking footprint.
