Super Blue Infrared Filter
The Super Blue IR filter is our most recent addition and we expect it to be one of the best sellers due to its unique properties. This filter is very unusual and has no equivalent in the Wratten gelatin filter line. Its 50% IR pass frequency is 705nm but in addition it also passes UV and blue light with a second pass band of 285nm to 465nm at 50%.
With its unique dual band properties it’s possible to get a natural looking blue sky right in camera! With the white balance set on a gray card the foliage comes out in a yellow tone and sky a vibrant blue tone.
As some of you may already realize from the graph bellow that this filter also passes ultraviolet (UV) light. This is great because now if you choose you can incorporate UV photography in your work with a simple addition of our external UV only filter.
Of course you can do the same for infrared and block the blue light wavelengths and only capture IR light by using an external filter, the result would be similar to our Standard Color IR filter.
