Stock cameras have a steep downward curve in the deep reds limiting most of the sensitivity to the hydrogen alpha wavelengths. Have us modify your camera to allow the reds to pass through to the sensor without any blocking of the hydrogen alpha wavelengths. Allowing for much higher sensitivity and thus shorter, less noisy exposures.

Note: The Sony A7C, A7C II, A7CR, A7S II, A7R II, A7R III and A9 use an IR LED as part of their electronic shutter monitor. Once these models are converted to IR,  Full Spectrum, or H-alpha, the internal IR LED will contaminate all images shot at exposures greater than 1 second.

Note: The Sony A7 IV, A7R IV, and A7R V use an IR LED as part of the electronic shutter monitor. Once these models are converted to IR, Full Spectrum, or H-alpha, the internal IR LED will possibly contaminate all images shot at exposures greater than 1 second.  However, it only fails on electronic shutter.  For mechanical shutter or for e-first curtain, they do not have a problem! Tested at 6,400ISO for 30 seconds with the Long Exposure NR setting turned on.

Includes:

  • 1 year warranty on the conversion service and installed H-Alpha filter.
  • Toll free phone and email support for life.

So I got my A7III turned into an A7IIIa by LifePixel Infrared and I couldn’t be more pleased with it… I’ve used it for Astroscapes and DSO photography with mu 100-400 GM and it just delivers. Have tried up to 8 minute exposures at ISO640 with no IR or light leakage what so ever.

Spectacular! My A7iiia, a=astrophotograpny with H-alpha conversion by LifePixel, that is. I’m so happy, a dream come true to be able to catch the invisible red nebulas myself. I’ve done it with my 12-24/2.8, 20/1.8, 24/1.4, 35/1.2 (Sigma Art DG DN) and even my 40/2 (Batis), 65/2 (Voigtlander) & 85/1.8 and “corroborated” with my new A7Siii, my A7iiia is looks better to me with double resolution and richer reds.
