Product Description

With this conversion service we will replace the internal hot mirror filter with a high quality custom made infrared glass filter. This will allow your camera to capture infrared light instead of visible light. After IR conversion you won’t need any filters in front of the lens and the camera will be just as sensitive to infrared as it was to visible light. This means you can hand hold and compose normally.

Focus calibration we perform on mirrorless cameras allows the use of all mirrorless camera lenses without any focus issues, just as with stock cameras.

Our most popular infrared filter is the Super Color IR due to its versatility in allowing stunning color and monochrome infrared images but it does require some Photoshop post production.

If you are unsure which IR filter type to choose please be sure to go through the Start Here section. It should give you everything you need but if you find you still have questions please feel free to contact us by phone or email, we are always happy to help.

Our 1 year warranty is included on conversion services and installed IR filters.

After you place your order you will receive an email with instructions on how to send us your camera.

I purchased my X-T2 converted camera from Lifepixel a few months ago. It was delivered exactly as expected with the necessary accessories and in perfect condition. What is more important is that the f/u help and customer service concerning processing IR images is amazing. They have pulled me out of a few jams and given me above and beyond merely selling a camera. I have only praise for their knowledge and service.

I had a Fuji X-M1 converted and was very happy. Work was done quickly, camera looked exactly the same when I received it back, and the pictures were great.

Years ago, I tried shooting Inferred with my Nikon D-70 and a 77mm IR Filter. The results were disappointing and focusing and exposing were a horrible trial and error experience. I later switched to Fuji, and sent my X-Pro1 to Life Pixel, after upgrading to the XT-2 for my commercial work. I decided to go with the enhanced IR filter to be able to do both color and B&W, which was a new learning experience, but I got some nice results.
Now, I am going to do a deep B&W filter conversion on a new Fuji X-Pro2 to get some dramatic B&W only images, with less post production work.
IR is a new way of seeing and shooting, but truly a lot of fun and much easier than shooting with a dark IR filter screwed onto your lens. Life Pixel has been wonderful to work with.

For no good reason I hesitated getting into IR photography but the fine work of a Flickr friend finally pushed me into giving it a try. She highly recommend Life Pixel and I can easily see why she did. I just received my IR converted (B&W, Standard) Fuji X-E2 and the job they did was simply perfect. My only regret now is having put off this decision much longer than I should have. So many, many thanks to the good folks at Life Pixel !

recently converted a used fujixt-1. i am very happy with the service and the conversion (720nm). I have been experimenting with his camera and workflow amd very happy with my results. A lot of information about workflow is available on the web and i would recommend to start with that. I have my personal one on one session scheduled for a later date and hopefully can get my unanswered questions addressed. Highly recommended!!
my initial attempts at IR are posted here.. both false colors and a couple of black and whites

Life Pixel converted an XT1 I’ve had lying around for a while. I got the extreme infrared 830nM. The results are outstanding! Normally I shoot film IR in Medium and Large format that gives a great look I especially like to take Panoramic on the LF with a 120 pano back.
The images I get from the Fuji are as dramatic as the film and a lot less work to get a nice image. But you can see directly in the view finder more or less what you can achieve without having to compose, remember to put the filter on and shoot. Obviously that’s on a tripod, with Fuji I’m now hand held at good speeds and ISO. 400 to 800 ISO at 1/100 + normally aperture wide open or slightly stopped down. One thing I didn’t realize but worked out after some conversations and checking of histograms is with this wavelength you are actually firing on all 16mP on the sensor. The CFA is transparent to IR above 800nM. Yes that’s right the red green and blue channels are all firing – its sensitivity is the same we are not just imaging on 25% (CFA is 50% green / 25% each Red and blue) . With some minor settings adjustments on the camera intense effects are possible straight out of camera but they are really enhanced in LR (the classics- contrast up, blacks down, white up , then a bit of clarity to pull in the mid zone and a pop of dehaze- rapid!). Shooting with K white balance at the minimum setting gives the drama you expect in the sky and water. But Auto also gives good results Just set the camera to BW red Filter and you are all set. Focus is spot on and all my lenses work ok (16 /35 f2 / 56 / 90 / 50-140) , for sure if you shoot into the sun you get hot spots (only really looked or noticed it on the 35) but that’s part of the fun. Overall very impressed its given me a chance to continue my work in IR with less workload- i’ll continue to shoot IR film but I can say the IR will be 90% digital from now

    Its really worth it.

LifePixel recently converted (720nm) for me my Fujifilm X-T1. That’s three cameras I’ve had converted for infrared by LifePixel. LifePixel’s work is top-notch and its service is terrific. I’m a real fan of LifePixel.

The Fujifilm X-T1 that LifePixel just converted to 720nm for me was the third camera that LifePixel has converted for me. I could not be happier with the excellence of the LifePixel conversions and the fine customer service.

My first covered camera was a nikon d200 with the standard Ir filter, recently i have converted a fuji XT10 with the super color Ir filter. i still use both of the cameras but the fuji has the advantage of lightweight and mirrorless so you see directly if you’re exposure is one, LOVE IT

I had been looking into IR conversion for a while and Dan was a lot of help. After about a year of looking into things I finally upgraded to an X-T2 and had my X-Pro1 converted. The process was simple. I got exactly what I wanted and expected. My old camera now has a new life that will give me more photographic opportunities that the few hundred dollars I could have gotten by selling it. Totally worth it! Just took it on my first vacation since having it converted and it was a blast to use and I love having a new way to take pictures.

I had a Fuji X-T1 converted to 720nm infrared. Being a complete newly I was amazed that the process was so easy. The folks at LifePixel were extremely helpful walking me through the process. And after a month of use I am extremely delighted with the way everything has turned out. Their support after sale has been exceptional. I highly recommend LifePixel for your conversion needs.

I couldn’t be happier with the service that I received from “Lifepixel”…..they converted my Fujifilm XT-10 to the “Super Color Infrared 590nm” Although I haven’t used it as much as I wanted since they returned my camera, the times that I have used it proved to me that the price of conversion was much MORE than worth the price that I paid. The turnaround time to convert was minimal, and they packaged my camera very well for the return trip. I look forward to spending much more time using my converted camera in the coming months, and I would tell anyone that is considering making this conversion to not think twice. You won’t be disappointed!! Thanks Lifepixel for opening up a completely new photographic experience to me.

I had LifePixel convert my Fujifilm X-E1 camera to Super Color infrared and could not be happier with the results. Not only was the conversion completed with a reasonably fast turnaround, but the on-going superb(!) support and excellent tutorials that LifePixel provides were so helpful in getting me off to a good start in shooting and processing infrared images. I have enjoyed both the color and B&W conversions that this filter allows and will likely have a full-frame camera converted to this same filter soon. I highly recommend LifePixel.
